Changement de Statut – Etudiant a Salarie

If you are reading this article means you found a job. Barvo, Feliciatations..!! You are a part of working population now. This means your APS needs a change of status now. You need to apply to your prefecture of residence for “Changement de Statut – Etudiant a Salarie”.

The first step is to send an email to your prefecture requesting for an appointment (you can find the email template in French at the end of this article).

Here’s a list of documents required for the process: 

To be prepared by you:

  1. Passport size photos (3)
  2. Photocopy of your passport (all stamped pages)
  3. Photocopy of your Visa (APS)
  4. Address proof:
    1. If you are living in a colocation, ask your landlord/landlady to provide you with attestation d'hébergement (proof of residency), ID of the landlord/landlady, electricity bill/internet bill
    2. If you are renting a place all by yourself, a recent electricity bill (in your name) and quittance de loyer (rent receipts) of the last 3 months.
  5. Photocopy of Diploma
  6. Photocopy of CV / Resume
  7. Photocopy of CDI / CDD (more than 6 months duration).
  8. Photocopy of recent Bulletin de paie (salary slip). (If the process for application gets delayed, recent 3 months’ salary slips). 

To be provided by the company:

  1. Formulaire Cerfa N°15186*03.
  2. Kbis.
  3. Status of the Company/employer.
  4. Document of social contribution (tax document).
  5. Letter of motivation from the employer behind hiring you.
  6. List of applicants for the post.

Upon submission of all these documents, you will receive a Recepisse / APS valid for 3 months before your card titled “Titre de Sejour – Salarie” is ready.

You will have to take a stamp of 269 Euros when you revisit the prefecture to collect your card.

Note: If in case the card “Titre de Sejour – Salarie” is not ready before your Recepisse / APS expires, you can request for a renewal at the same prefecture and will need only the following documents for it:

  1. Photocopy of passport (all stamped pages).
  2. Photocopy & original Recepisse / APS.
  3. Passport size photo.
  4. Address proof:
    1. If you are living in a colocation, ask your landlord/landlady to provide you with attestation d'hébergement (proof of residency), ID of the landlord/landlady, electricity bill/internet bill
    2. If you are renting a place all by yourself, a recent electricity bill (in your name) and quittance de loyer (rent receipts) of the last 3 months.

Tip: Try not to change your address during this process since it will not only delay the process of obtaining the card but also requires an additional process of “Changement d’adresse

3) Adresse Postale Complète: Your complete Address with postal code (ex : 10 rue Botie, 75009 or if you are living with someone and don’t have your name on mailbox Full name, Chez ‘the name on the mail box’, address)
